About this blog

This blog is for education purposes and is designed to share experiences and insights into using fuzzy logic for data matching and discussing common approaches taken and the problems encountered and solutions explored

I have put this website together to answer many of the questions I have been asked over the years in relation to Fuzzy Data Matching, to share some of the approaches often taken and to highlight that whilst Fuzzy Data Matching is necessary it is not a solution in itself and that it presents further challenges that need to be factored into any Data Matching Solution.

One of the primary concerns with Fuzzy Matching is that Fuzzy is by its very nature inaccurate, the intention of Fuzzy Logic to ascertain likely candidates for matching, it is then the job of a decision making engine or often meaning ‘people’ to decide if the fuzzy matches are to be accepted or not.
